Hello everyone thank you for looking at my blog today i'm talking about Adrenalin Forest. Adrenalin Forest courses feature over 100 fun filled challenges across six levels. Each level is harder than the last, with obstacles starting at 1.5 metres above the ground that are suitable for a wide range of ages and fitness levels. To conquer the whole course and claim your bragging rights, you’ll be climbing, jumping and swinging at least 20 metres up in the air.
This isn’t just a test of your physical skills - each obstacle can be conquered in different ways, so you’ll be stretching your brain as well. Challenges include the Indiana jump, crossed logs, barrels, wrecking balls, a commando flying fox and Tarzan jump.

Christchurch earthquake

In the Christchurch earthquake A lot of families died and the others were heart broken.

Peoples homes got destroyed from liquefaction, crumbled and foundations.

People were living in other peoples garages because they felt nervous, scared and worried.

People had heaps of injuries from the huge earthquake.

People had to move away from Christchurch because their houses were destroyed.

Peoples businesses were destroyed from the earthquake so they had no jobs. 

The government had to set up a new hospital centres and hospital dept.

Pasta rover challenge

 Aim: Build a pasta rover that can travel 1m down a ramp then 1m across the floor.

Equipment:  Lasagne sheet, fettucine, spaghetti pasta, penne pasta, cannoli pasta, round mints

Next time I would focus on my work and get it done.

In hurumanu 1 I have been learning about women in ww1.

The early Polynesian navigaters

In science we have been learning about the polynesian navigaters

Early polynesion navigation: 

Would you be able to cross the pacific ocean without a GPS? The early polynesion wayfinders used clouds, water, stars,sun, birds, and fish to navigate the ocean.

They used clouds, water, stars, sun, birds and fish to navigate because they had nothing else to use to navigate.

They used clouds to reflect the lagoons and then they knew an island was close by.

Also big groups of clouds would be above a mountainous island. 

Birds could fly 190km from land. Also they would fly back to land eventually.

The polynesion navigators used the sun to travel east and west.  The sun would rise in the east. And set in the west.

In conclusion, the early polynesion wayfinders used clouds, water, stars, sun, birds, and fish to navigate the ocean.

Navigation

Aim:

I want to walk in a straight line with no senses.

Hypothesis:

i predict that I will walk into an object.

Method:

• Equipment 
• bucket
• blind fold
• cotton wool

    Instructions:

       1. cover your eyes with the blind fold
       2. put cotton wool in your ears
       3.Put the bucket on your head to stop the sun from touching you
       4. spin 3 times in a circle
       5. get your partner to line you up in the direction of the point
       6. begin walking in a straight line
     

Safety:

• stop when you hear the whistle
• stop when your partner says stop
• don't walk into objects
•

Sort of comments

Today we have been learning how to right quality blog comments. We had to sort the good and bad comments on different side of the drawing. There weren't many good comments most of the comments were bad comments but I think I found 3 quality blog comments on this drawing.

Becoming a martian

1. When can a mission to mars happen? It can happen every 26 months when mars is closest to earth
2. What are two geological features of mars? Mars has mountains and volcanoes
3. What is one possible solution from the story about oxygen on mars? There is a rover called MOXIE that produces oxygen on mars.
4. If it doesn't rain on mars, where does the water come from?It is normal like earth, it's just the rain is thicker.
5. How will people get food on mars? What is a possible solution?When they land on mars there will already be stored food there for them
   

The 1860 gold rush

We have been learning about the 1860's gold rush in NZ. I watched a video and had to answer some questions

1.The scenery looks like it was in the desert but it looked cold.

2. I think the boy was sad because he wanted his dad to come back from gold mining. Because he was missing him cause he hasn't seen him in a long time.

3. My mum went to Wellington for a concert for about 3 days. I felt sad because it felt like it was a long time.

I learnt the gold rush was in the 1860's. I learnt that the Chinese came to NZ to go gold mining. a goldin nugget in the 1860's was worth $1.000 but now days its worth $110.000

Savoury muffins

In food tech we made savoury muffins. The savoury muffins were delicious but they had a little flavour. I liked making the muffins because i was mixing and measuring all the ingredients. The stuff in the muffins were bacon, onion, flour, oil, sugar, milk, tomato relish and cheese.

Chocolate Chip Cookies

Today in food we made chocolate chip cookies. I enjoyed making the cookies because the smell they were making from the dough smelt good. The cookies looked like a bright yellow fire ball. I liked the taste of the cookies because the butter and the chocolate chips. The texture on the cookies was soft and warm. My teammate was good at cooking and i score our teamwork at 5/5

Olly's New Bike

Olly's Personality: He doesn't appreciate what he gets unless it’s what he wants.He is a sad boy .

How did Olly feel when he got his new bike?

Olly's didn’t like the bike because he wanted the silver bike that was in the shop.

Why did Olly feel like this?

He was sad because he got a new bike. But  at the end he was happy because he made a new friend.

Predict what would've happened if Mohamed didn’t move next door

Olly would've never of made friends and the bike wouldn't of been fixed so the Olly would be angry.

Matariki

It is Matariki. When it's Matariki the seven stars help the crops grown. The names of the seven sisters are Ururangi, Matariki, Waipuna-a-rangi, Waita, Waiti, Tupu-a-nuku, Tupu-a-rangi.
Matariki is a Maori celebration for the Maori new year.

Making ends meet maths

In maths i have been making a shopping list for 4 people 2 kids and 2 adults. I a budget of $200 dollars for a week for food and had to include breakfast, lunch and dinner. we had to have the whole week planned out with food for what food we had each day on breakfast, lunch and dinner. when we planned that out we had to make the menu of what we were having and the ingredients what were in the food. I had to write a method for each meal explaining what to do to make it complete. When i finished doing that i had to make a shopping list witch had to include the items, quantity and price.

The Alien Invasion

This week in writing i have been writing a blockbuster script.My script is about 2 boys playing video games and then they went to play at the park. As they were leaving aliens came from the sky and tried to abduct them. The boys Jake and Jimmy found sticks and threw them at the aliens and tried ti run away. The aliens stopped them from getting away and Jake and Jimmy tried getting out another way. The aliens stopped them again so the boys yelled as loud as they could. Nobody could hear theme so they tried getting out different ways. They screamed one last time and finally people could hear them so the people saw what was happening and got guns and scared of the aliens

Breathless

In reading i made a picture from the journal breathless. I has to pick a key theme from the book and make a picture out of it. My picture was about a rugby field and Asafo holding his inhaler because he has asma.

y 7&8 technology logo design

This week in technology i had to choose a subject and i choose create a company, logo and products. My idea was to create a company for a  motor bike brand. My company name is Moto i had to create 4 logos for the brand. I like the 3rd design because it looks like a motor bike wheel with the logo name under it.

Block Buster Movie

I had to pick a type of movie horror,fantasy and action and adventure. I choose action and adventure my characters were Jake, Jimmy and Aliens. The story was about Jake and Jimmy playing video games at Jimmy's house. They got board playing video games so they decided to play at the park. I had 2 settings for the story one at the park and one about the aliens trying to abduct them. I had 3 story planners about the story and a language features.

aviation history facts

at home i have been learning about aviation history facts. I had to find 3 facts about aviation history and aviation means old facts about planes. I got 5 facts about aviation history. 

1.KLM Royal Dutch airlines is the worlds oldest airline established in 1919.

2. Qantas is the second oldest airline established in 1920.

3. John.F.Kennedy Airport in New York was originally named Idlewild Airport.

4. Qantas invented business class in 1979.

5.The internet and online check-in were first introduced by Alaska Airlines in 1999

prejudice ww2 facts

At home i have been learning about prejudice ww2 facts.I had to find five facts about prejudice ww2 and write them in the doc. i had 5 facts about ww2 they were.

 1.In 1939 September the 1st ww2 started and in 1945 September the 2nd ww2 ended.

2. As many as 12,000 jews were killed everyday inside these concentration camps.

3.The word holocaustcis from greek words ''holos'' (whole) and ''kaustos'' (burned)''.

4.Ww2 started by germaany in an unprovoked attack on poland.

5.Even before WW2 had started Hitler predicted in his book '' mein kampf'' a European war that would exterminate all the Jews from Germany

Maths - Numbers - Level 2 - Sheet 1

 Today at home I worked on a maths sheet. I  had to complete this sheet on the sheet there were 3 questions i could only do 2 because the other one you had to be in groups of 3-5 it was only me. So i didn't do that one but the other two sheets  were easy the first one was 10 boxes of numbers. I had to say how many boxes there were.N  Next i had to say what numbers there were. Next i had to say the spell the number in words.

Cars On Carmen Road

In maths we were learning about pie charts. We done them on sheets we had about 5 different colour cars and we had to have numbers on the pie chart on the side counting up in 5's and there were lines between them in 1's.we had the numbers up to 50 on the pie chart then I counted how many cars were red lets say if the number was 12 i would go up 2 5's then 2 lines then i would mark form the middle to the 12 mark.

Te Tiriti o Waitangi

In Hurumanu we were watching a video and we had a sheet on that sheet was questions. And we had to answer the questions from the video to the sheet. There was 17 questions and we had to stop the video some times to answer them. question
1. there were to many diseases.

 2.The Maori population drooped from 100,000 to 80,00 or 70,00.

3. The methods the Maori used in the northern wars were forts,trenches,walls

4.the main reason why the Maori population drooped because diseases.

Tangnata Whenua

I watched a video about Tangnata Whenua that means the people of the land.The Maori were the first people to live in New Zealand.The Maori arrived from Hawiki. How did the Maori arrive in New Zealand? They got to New Zealand by a Waka/canoe .What did they bring to New Zealand? They brung 15-25 Waka and 150 people. How did they get food? They brung crops,kumar and the ate animals on land/ flightless birds. Explain how the moa became extinct. The Maori ate all the moa to live.Why did the Maori choose to settle here? They couldn't get back to Hawiki because the strong winds blowing them.
